Responding in the right way at the right time

In this final session of our resilience-building journey, we bring it all together with a focused look at timely, confident response.

Drawing on Cranfield School of Management’s definition of organisational resilience, we’ll explore how small charity leaders can recognise the right moments to act — and do so with clarity.

We’ll unpack the financial signals that tell us when to hold steady, when to adapt, and when to respond decisively. Through simple, practical tools, we’ll introduce a short-form financial plan designed for real-world use in uncertain times. We’ll look at key metrics that build our own confidence — and help us inspire confidence in trustees, funders, and teams alike.

Financially resilient organisations are led by financially confident leaders. In this session, we step into that role, modelling a finance plan that supports good financial decision making.

We’ll conclude the programme by sharing our own draft financial resilience plans with peers — setting the stage for action beyond the course.
